NDL Joins R744.com as Silver Partner

NDL Industries, a Canadian manufacturer of valves and fittings for CO2 (R744)

NDL Industries, a Canadian manufacturer of valves and fittings for CO2 (R744) HVAC&R systems, has joined the world's leading R744 HVAC&R stakeholders as a silver partner of the R744.com marketplace.

"NDL is the only manufacturer of CRN [Canadian Registration Number] approved ball valves and check valves for pressures up to 140 bar [2,031psi]," the company says on its website, adding the "valves have thicker walls than [the] industry standard."

"Our valves can hold five times their maximum working pressure, providing a tremendous safety margin for ball valves used in CO2 systems," NDL says. The company's ball valves are CRN approved for transcritical CO2 use.

The stem placement is designed to prevent blowout and, thereby, prevent charge loss if there is an accidental over-pressurization in the valve.

The valves, made from stainless steel, and incorporate Teflon seals and seats. "Our cone-shaped 100% virgin Teflon seals and seats … will not shrink or leak, eliminating seal replacement during changeovers," the company says. Each valve is helium-tested in-house and comes with a two-year warranty.

NDL also offers service valves with attributes of the ball valves but designed for system service applications that require gauges.

For CO2 HVAC&R piping, NDL offers C19400 high-pressure copper fittings – connectors, tees, elbows, bushings, etc. – made from a "high-quality" copper alloy that is resistant to corrosion and can withstand high temperatures. "The unique design of these fittings allows for a secure and long-lasting connection, making them ideal for use in high-pressure applications," the company says.

NDL also makes a tee specifically designed to install a service valve on a tube. "They are easy to install and provide a tight, leak-free seal, suitable for service valves with 10mm [0.4in] stainless steel stubs," the company notes.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, NDL originally started in 1987 as a mechanical engineering firm for the refrigeration industry in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S. In 1998, as new refrigerants emerged, the company shifted from consulting to producing air-conditioning and refrigeration (ACR) copper fittings.

Today, NDL manufactures HVAC&R and plumbing products across 23 categories, offering a ten-year "Ultimate Protection Warranty" on its ACR copper fittings and a two-year warranty on its valves.
